For this journey, you were told to find a way to sustain life indefinitely: to hold yourself throughout time as an unceasing presence in some way. But life is only really possible because of this inevitability, the only thing that is a certain, called death.
To live is to be unstable: to experience and be thrown across the clouds of reality and to fall between them through the gaps. We seek to find equilibrium in the wake of this chaos which life brings--some sort of balance that feels like serenity, bliss, peace. To achieve such balance, though, in the terms brought to us by both science and religion, both mind and soul is to reach a point of death.
We cannot search for peace in this world and hold with it the possibility of life forever. They are two aspirations of man with antagonizing definitions: impossibilities when translated into reality like concurrent parallels. In theory, balance and life sounds like heaven on earth.
There is a reason why these two celestial bodies are infinitely apart from one another.
So in your life, I ask, don't search for the eternal peace or immortality. Gather while you can the things that bring you joy, that are beautiful and pleasing to your mind as well as your soul. Do what it takes to obtain these things--but remember that all of your actions have their consequences as well.
Because when you die, when that point of equilibrium is reached, these beautiful things which you have gathered will have made you feel whole and complete through life. Your body when you pass on becomes nothing more than what it started as: matter within the world engulfing it. But your mind and soul are so much more.
The things you have gathered in this life passes on to life in the next. You create the next world that everyone else experiences. Your memories are what grow into the tree of another eternity where the seeds are sewn for a new species of reality to be born.
Gather these beautiful things that make you happy while you can, and create through your death, accept your equilibrium that you will be born into everything else.
